Illustration series of my favourite women of stand-up comedy
Phoebe Robinson
Phoebe Robinson is an American stand up comedian, writer, and actress known best for co-hosting 2 Dope Queens, hosting the Sooo Many White Guys podcast, writing the New York Times Best Seller You Can’t Touch My Hair and Everything's Trash But It's Okay, plus too many other credits to list here without making you dizzy!
Phoebe is not just a hilarious comedian in her own right, she is incredible at elevating the names of women comedians, comedians of colour, and LGBTQ+ comedians and is an exceptional example of women supporting women.
What drew me to include Phoebe in this list was her material about dating white dudes (as an Indian girl in Wales I relate too hard), her infectiously endearing personality (I seriously dare you to watch or listen to any footage of Pheebs without grinning or chuckling) that instantly makes you feel like she's a good friend, her unusual obsession with U2 and Bono, her attitude to lifting up others, and just how candid she is about race and sex. Her relationship with #britishbaekoff is also super adorable and her IG stories including him always tickle me.
If you haven’t already, you should definitely check out Phoebe's work and keep updated on her antics. Like seriously, go follow her now on all the things!
That’s all for now, stay tuned for more badass babes of comedy!
